This is Vivek Savani, a second-generation entrepreneur from Gujarat, India and permanent resident of Singapore and New Zealand, I was initially drawn to the corporate world, starting my career in the diamond industry in Mumbai and Surat in 2014.

In 2017, I co-founded InPluto Equity and Investment Corp LLP in Singapore with seven friends, aiming to capitalize on the booming equity market. As a Director on the board until 2020, I played a key role in diversifying InPluto’s successful returns into other ventures, including biopharma, FMCG, and IT in New Zealand, Singapore and UAE.

However, a failed neuroscience experiment sparked a lifelong passion for the field, inspiring me to pursue a career in neuroscience. After leaving the corporate world in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, I embarked on a new journey in science. Inspired by my undergraduate research experience at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bangalore, where I interacted with a neuroscience researcher conducting patch-clamp experiments on live neurons, I developed a deep interest in the field.

To further explore my passion, I pursued a Master’s degree in neuroscience, completing my coursework in 2021. In early 2022, I returned to Bangalore to focus on my Master’s thesis, delving into the fascinating areas of adult neurogenesis and neuronal diversity at the Ghosh Lab.

In the fall of 2023, I transitioned to the United States to continue my academic pursuits. I have spent year at the University of Alabama as graduate student, later I realized that what exactly I want to explore is not there and left the school with more ambitious plans for future.
